Curating This 4th Quarter

Updated: Aug 11

People love to say “60 is the new 40.” Cute. But 60 isn’t 40—and thank goodness. I’m clearer, kinder to myself, and ready to curate this fourth quarter on purpose.

At 40, I was juggling a million responsibilities, chasing that ever-elusive “work-life balance.” Now? I’m done with clock-watching and busywork. I’m curating this phase with intention and purpose—embracing the wisdom, freedom, and (let’s be honest) the I-don’t-have-time-for-BS attitude that tends to arrive right on schedule at 60.

Why I Started ThisIs60.life

Somewhere along the way, I realized aging isn’t something to resist—it’s something to curate. We get to decide what earns space and what doesn’t. We can lean into learning, rediscover passions, protect our energy, and take better care of our bodies and brains. We can lay down the expectations that never really fit and forge new goals that actually do.

This blog is my place to do just that. I’m not here to pretend I’ve got it all figured out (hardly!). I’m here to share what I’m learning—the good, the surprising, and the downright frustrating (hello, RBF).

Why 60 Is NOT 40 - And That’s a Good Thing

We’re told to “fight aging” like it’s a battle to win. What if we stop fighting and start owning this stage? That shift changes everything. When we own it, we celebrate what is and take charge of what’s next.

  • At 40, I worried what others thought—constantly.

  • At 60, I wear what I love, say what I mean, and prioritize who and what truly matter.

  • At 40, I was too busy to focus on myself.

  • At 60, I have the time and perspective to invest in what fuels me—travel, health, and yes, enjoying an unreasonable amount of dark chocolate without judgment.

  • At 40, I pushed for more.

  • At 60, I’m curating better.

This stage isn’t about turning back the clock; it’s about moving forward with clarity, confidence, and so much SPF it could double as wall paint.
